We didn't have a reservation (on a DO evening) and apparently lucky that we got a place. The waitress was very nice and assigned us one of the last two tables. We ordered the meatloaf (menu of the day) and a salad. Both very tasty. On request, we also got a slice of bread. It took 2-3 minutes and we were a bit surprised, but: The kitchen was totally sweet and warmed both plates and bread. The young lady who served us really had her hands full but seemed very professional and calm. And it's a great atmosphere anyway! We can definitely recommend :)

A few days ago I went to the old smithy to eat. I really liked this restaurant and the whole atmosphere, especially the staff were all very friendly and courteous. I had ordered the roasted roast with onion sauce described in the menu I noticed with this dish that the fried potatoes and the steak were swimming directly in the onion sauce, i.e. the steak and the fried potatoes were no longer crispy and literally softened in the sauce. The taste was good, but I'm used to having a roast beef If you order the steak and the fried potatoes, they have to be crispy and topped with onion rings, that's just a suggestion for the kitchen. Otherwise, I was satisfied

Delicious home cooking at a good price. When the weather is nice, you can sit comfortably outside. Great for children because they can run around a bit and there is a rabbit and a guinea pig to pet. The portions are large and the service quick and very friendly. We'd love to come back!

The pub "Alte Schmiede" was once really a blacksmith, you do not see much of it today. Except for a few relics from the old days. The house is a beautiful timbered house and the decor is such that you get a glimpse of what it looked like. The house is very well visited, you should order in advance. The service is very nice to look at and also super friendly. The food is fresh, the portions are neat and it tastes delicious again and again. You can also sit comfortably, with nice weather outside.
